Yesterday, October 18, 2012 was the day before takeoff! My dad and I have been packing making numerous trips to the store for various items. The excitement is building rapidly, the anticipation is unbearable. Our trip plan has changed drastically, no longer are we spending our time at the mission fixing it up, but a couple of days after we get there, we head for a mountain city by the name of Las Canoas about 3 hours away from the mission. We will be fixing up the church building there in Las Canoas as well as doing VBS (Vacation Bible School) for the kids there.

We are leaving, we meet at at 7:00 am to arrange rides to Portland and to load up all the luggage. We leave Eugene by 8:00 am and head off. Our ride activities consisted of listening to music, playing games and talking politics. We have now arrived at the airport, it is getting busy, unloading the luggage and such, I need to sign off now and go help...

I am now in a hotel in Atlanta. We each checked two bags, and with the new Kiosk machine it makes checking bags a lot quicker. My dad's frequent traveler status made the bags for our group free! What a blessing! After going through security, no problems arose, we as a group went to get cheeseburgers at a place in the airport. While waiting for our burgers I and two other boys were sitting at a table with a pile of condiment packets siting in front of us. I asked for a deck of cards and that began our favorite free time activity-playing poker with the condiment packets! Our air plane ride went great and we got into Atlanta around 7:30 pm and headed to our hotel were we would stay the night because a 13 hour layover in Atlanta is not exactly ideal. We are staying at a Double Tree Inn and they have a pool were we all took a swim. Good thing they had a hot tub too! BURRRR, COLD! Had pizza for dinner and now I need to go to sleep for in the morning we leave at 9:00 am. We need to be at the airport by 7:00 am and it is near midnight when I write this. I will write again tomorrow.
Cool Have fun!
