Our group had pancakes and eggs with mango and coffee for breakfast. Quite American if you ask me, but tasty anyway. We packed up the mission truck and the bus, and headed for the mountain city of Las Canoas. This village is about 3 hours away from the mission, but that trip was broken up into two separate parts because we stopped for lunch at a beach. We collected shells in the water, ate sandwiches, and watered a tree then hit the road again. After arriving in Las Canoas, the Dominican kids swarmed us, they unloaded the entire mission truck by themselves without being asked and with a great attitude. All the kids learned my name within the first 24 hours. Our first interesting problem when we arrived is that we had ZERO power going to the church building where we were staying. We got that fixed semi-quickly... well before it got dark anyway. We finished settling in, played a game of poker and went to bed.
